Anisortopic Modeling of Hydraulic Fractures Height Growth in the Anadarko Basin

Correct estimation of hydraulic fracture height growth is a critical step in the design Hydraulic Fracturing (HF) treatment, as it maximizes reservoir stimulation and returns on investment. The fractures governed by several situ conditions, especially stress variation with depth. common workflow to estimate building mechanical earth model (MEM) calibrating using Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test (DFIT). However, DFIT interpretation complex task, depending method used, different results may be obtained that will consequently affect predicted height. This work used tangent compliance methods for interpretation, along isotropic anisotropic profiles, HF numerical modeling 3D planar simulator. Data from two wells Anadarko Basin were this study. was compared microseismic data. showed even though fits better profile, did not match On contrary, profile good between events. Based discussions presented study, validity debatable, when formations are anisotropic, fails correctly minimum which main input addition fact some researchers have questioned use low-permeability formations.
